I'm not sure if somebody is really out here snitching but what I do know is the feds are definitely watching. Every time I turn around a new crew is getting indicted. Yesterday, I was scrolling through Instagram and I came across a picture of rapper Casanova and his girlfriend Swaggy Jazzy. I personally admire the two for their journey and leaving social media out of their relationship for the most part. From what I've heard, Casanova served time in prison prior to becoming a rapper and Jazzy was there every step of the way. Fast forward, to a couple of hours ago when I received a call informing me that Casanova was indicted alongside 17 others. I was extremely shocked to hear this news and had to put my ears to the streets and do my research. According to court documents,18 members of the "Untouchable Gorilla Stone Nation" gang members were arrested. Members face charges like racketeering, murder, narcotics, firearms and fraud offenses. To be honest, I am extremely sadden by this indictment. Ofcourse, I understand the term "you do the crime, you do the time" but as black woman I pride myself on advocating to keep our black men out of our prison systems, especially men with talent. My heart goes out to every family involved and I hope pushing forward we can change the narrative for these new rappers.
