BET Plus Launches TheImpact: ATL

The Impact ATL is a new television show that captures the day to day lives of up and coming influencers. Jayda Cheaves, Ari the Don, Arrogant TAE , Lakeyah, and Dess Dior are on the show. I was very familiar with all of these influencers before the show.

Lakeyah is a new rapper under the label Quality Control. She was also featured on XXL's Freshman Class 2021. Some of my favorite songs by her are ‘Mind Yo Business’ , ‘Too Much’ , ‘Check’ ft. Moneybagg Yo and more. Her style is chic and fresh. She definitely has been putting out consistent content for her new and old fans. On the show she has been struggling a bit with balancing her family life and music life. She has had a rocky relationship with her mom so I hope we can see that relationship progress while on the show. Her career seems to be her #1 focus, but I hope she can get a circle of loyal friends around her because she says she is usually by herself. I understand this aspect of her though because it’s hard to trust people in general; and even more difficult in the music industry.

Dess Dior is an independent rapper on the rise. She just released “NANN HOE”. The vibes for the video is a 90s freaknik. That’s my favorite era so I’m definitely here for it. She also just dropped a new series called “BLOCKDT”. On the show they talk about what the red flags can get you blocked. The block button is personally my favorite button, so I definitely enjoyed watching. Of course, she was smart to add Sukihana to the episode because her personality is LIVE. She seems to be making the steps to progress her life regardless of not being signed. I hope she stays true to herself and doesn’t compare herself to other artists. On the show so far she’s been putting out the best image of herself, but she seems to be kind of hard on herself. I understand this because as an independent artist, you have to push yourself twice as harder because nobody is holding you to any responsibilities.

Arrogant TAE is always giving life and personality as a person and hairstylist. He has done the hair of all of the girls that are poppin’ currently. I’ve never heard any bad reviews of him as a person or as a hairstylist. Doing good business is important for regular clients and celebrity clients. Treating a person as a person no matter what status they hold is very important and TAE seems to have that standard. I really enjoyed seeing the family side of TAE. He has a lot of siblings and they seem to all support him. I hope he decides to open his own shop which his mom has been trying to get him to do for years. I hope he believes in himself as much as others believe in him.

Jayda Cheaves has always had her name in the spotlight. She started making her mark as an influencer when she was in school. From there, she built her brand and has inspired many girls. I’m interested to see more about who she is on her individual journey now since separating from longterm boyfriend Lil Baby.

AritheDon has always been that girl. Known from her iconic looks and “to the point” personality sometimes the media showed her personality in a harsh light. Sometimes the media kind of made her seem impersonable.. so I’m really glad this show shines a light on her down to earth personality. She might be a city girl on the outside but from the shows perspective we see she has a really big heart.

This show is a step in the right direction to getting a deeper look at the influencers in the social media spotlight currently.., because you don't truly KNOW someone until you GET TO KNOW them.
