November has begun and the fourth quarter pressure is on. Artists everywhere are either gearing up to or have released a project within the last two weeks. Below are 6 projects you should stream this week.
SCREAM - KY'LEE
Queens native Ky’lee is definitely someone to watch out for. The rising rapper released a new project entitled “Scream Vol. 3” last week. He remixes songs like Flip Dinero’s “Leave Me Alone” and Beanie Sigels “Feel It In The Air” but doesn’t disappoint like many new artists do when remixxing. My favorite original song on the project is “Too Much” featuring Rellaire.
RESET - MONEYBAGG YO
Mixtape King and Yo Gotti artist MoneyBagg Yo released two mixtapes this year. 2 Heartless and Bet On Me gained major attention from Hip Hop trap lovers everywhere. The Memphis native released his album RESET just a few days ago and I can definitely say I am impressed. Not only does the project have songs you can turn up to, they all have some sort of substance. My favorite songs on the project are “Say Nah” featuring J Cole, “Midnight Patek” and “In Her Voice”.
QUEEN PIN - MOLLY BRAZY
Out of all of the females that released in the last two weeks, Queen Pin by Molly Brazy has definitely been one of my favorites. The Detroit native continues to evolve as an artist and do numbers. The Winners Circle artist has a unique word play and clever use of metaphors. My favorite songs on the project are “Tea Party” and “You Spook’d”.
THE LAST ROCKET - TAKEOFF
Migos member Takeoff released his first solo project last week. This comes a few weeks after his group mate Quavo released his first solo album as well . There has been a lot of commentary regarding Takeoff’s role in the Migos which was followed by jokes and memes regarding him being left off hit song “Bad and Bougee”. Although, I personally prefer the Migos on a track together. I think this album shows who Takeoff is as an artist and proves to the world that he plays a major role in the trio. My favorite songs on this project are "She Gon Wink" , "Insomnia" and "Martian".
FM - VINCE STAPLES
Long Beach artist Vince Staples releases a 11 track project that gives off the vibe of a lit radio station with no commercials. When asked about the project he says "no concepts, no elaborate schemes, just music. Because nowadays,"who needs more bulls***?” This is definitely a project that you don’t have to skip through which is very rare at this time in Hip Hop. My favorite songs are “Feels Like Summer”, “Run Them Bands” and "No Bleedin".
NOT ALL HEROES WEAR CAPES - METRO BOOMIN
Metro Boomin seemed to be really quiet this year but he definitely ended it with a bang. On November 2nd he released an album entitled Not All Heroes Wear Capes. Given Metro Boomin’s background there is no surprise that the production on this album is superb. It is definitely a Hip Hop trap lover sanctuary. My favorite songs on this project are "Don't Come Out The House" , "Ten Freaky Girls" both featuring 21 Savage and "No Complaints".
