8 Rising Female Rappers To Watch Come Up

Since the birth of Hip Hop music, there has never been more female rappers circulating the industry than currently. Some may argue that we had a large number of female rappers in the 90s but the survey shows, never to the current extent. Today, we have female rappers like Cardi B, Dreezy, Saweetie, Stefflon Don, Maliibu Miitch, Asian Doll, Cuban Doll, Kash Doll, Rico Nasty, Crystal Caines, Bali Baby, Molly Brazy, City Girls and many more. Influences from legends like Lil Kim, Missy Elliot, Nicki Minaj, Foxy Brown and Trina can be reflected in most of their music and/or style. As a female, it is refreshing to see so many females keeping up with or out rapping the guys in such a male dominated industry. Below are some female rappers on the rise, that you should watch:

8. Coi Leray

Coi Leray is the daughter of Hip Hop's Benzino. Her unique style and catchy lyrics grabbed my attention on Instagram. Coi Leray recently released a mixtape entitled Everything Coz. With the right people and backing, Coi Leray can definitely end this year on top. Check out her latest video "No Lettin Up" below:

7. Kyah Baby

Kyah Baby is no new comer to spitting bars or the rap game. Growing up in Queens, she was always known for being a nice female rapper at a time where there weren't many. Many of us featured her songs on our Myspace pages. Around 2013, she somewhat disappeared from the rap scene but this year she has became the favorite of many and made her loyal fans proud. Kyah Baby has recently appeared on Sway In The Morning. Check her out in the 2 Steppin Remix:

6. Billy B

Billy B is determined to put on for her city and cousins everywhere. The East New York native is known for her witty bars and gang affiliations. Billy B will join the cast of the web series PIECES next season. With continued consistency, she can only go up from here. Check out Billy B's latest video below:

5. G Gotti

G Gotti appeared on the scene a couple of years ago with the Chicago rap scene. She was most known for her affiliations with her boyfriend at the time RondoNumba9 and male bestfriend LA Capone, who passed away in 2013. G Gotti was forced to take a break from music as she fought a murder case from behind prison walls. Thankfully, she beat the case and can now release music for her loyal and new fans. G Gotti's experiences can be felt in her music. She recently collaborated with close friend Cuban Doll on a freestyle to G Herbo's "Who Run It". I am expecting G Gotti to put in work and do numbers for the second half of the year. Check out her latest video below:

4. FEBY

Brooklyn native Feby is taking the rap game by storm. She gained major attention for her freestyle to 21 Savage's "Bank Account". I personally streamed it more than the original track. Feby is known for her affiliations with Trey Way Entertainment. She is walking proof that pretty girls can spit. Check out Feby's latest video with Fat Boy SSE below:

3. Winter Blanco

Bad Girls Club veteran Winter Blanco is probably the most underrated artist on this list. I just don't believe she gets the credit she deserves. The California native can rap and sing. She offers listeners a sense of fresh air from the average tone of female rap right now. I think she can potentially run in the lane with Kehlani and Jhene Aiko. Check out Winter's latest video below:

2. Cocc Pistol Cree

Los Angeles native Cocc Pistol Cree gained attention back in 2013 for her mixtape Postpardum. She then collaborated with DJ Mustard on song "Lady Killa". Cocc Pistol Cree gained my attention with her latest project In My Feelings, now steaming on all platforms. I can definitely see the progression in her music and I'm looking forward to forthcoming projects. Check out her video below:

1. Renni Rucci

Hailing from the state of South Carolina comes a female rapper with a banging body and bars to match. Unlike other female rappers, Renni Rucci writes her own bars. She gained attention as an artist when her songs "Freestyle" and "Trending" went viral. Rumor has it that she may be or may have been signed to Quality Control. Renni Rucci

has yet to disappoint me with a freestyle. Check out her latest video "Shook" below:
