Listen &' Review: Cardi B's Gangsta B*tch Vo1. 1

ARTIST - Cardi B

PROJECT - Gangsta Bitch Music Volume 1

RATING - ✮✮✮

As I listen to Cardi B deliver a dope message in her first skit which is an excerpt from a Breakfast Club interview. I can't help but agree with her message despite the improper language and rowdy tone. No one should give up on their dreams, you can be whoever or whatever you want to be. Well, atleast if you have the shmoneyyy behind you.

Cardi B starts her mixtape off by to illustrating her lifestyle as a "Gangsta bitch" who remains "on fleek". On the "B.O.N Remix", Cardi B gives me a sense of competition for Joseline Hernandez as she slowly chants "I'm sick of you baby mamas, ya'll nothing but drama. Always worried about the new bitch. Why you so foolish? Watching my moves, you like how I do shit?" This is totally something I could picture Joseline saying in a song in reference to Mimi Faust. I think Joseline should be a little worried especially since the two are both are Love & Hip Hop stars and from Puerto Rican decent. When the beat drops for track 6, my mood changes. I begin to swing my weave and mouth "I be tryna be like a lady but ya"ll be getting me tight". I'm sure all the ladies can relate when it comes to trying to remain classy in an upsetting situation. The song continues to make me do the birdy bounce while Cardi flows and repeats her famous line "Whaspoppin". The tape moves on to a skit entitled "Her perspective" . The skit illustrates an issue that many females dating an insecure street dude can relate to.The skit continues into a song where Cardi expresses her need to be selfish due to an unstable relationship. If you heard the skit and song and it reminded you of your life, GET OUT!! On track 13, Cardi B shares her rules of dealing with tricks and/or sugar daddies. I think alot of females need to take note because I consistently witness girls becoming lost trying to deal with those type of men and situations.

Overall, I think Cardi B has a great message to share with her fans. With the right vocal coach and writers she might have a spot in female rap. Listen below and let me know what you think.
